Top 3 Yokohama A539 Reviews

Given 88% while driving a Ford Escort mq1 (185/60 R13) on mostly country roads for 1,500 spirited miles
I did quite a bit of research on tyres for my Escort after Uniroyal stopped producing the Rallye 340, this was the ideal tyre for my "on the edge" driving; excellent grip, dry & wet, and utterly dependable & predictable; barrelling into tightening mountain roads in North Wales knowing the tyres wouldn't let go. The Yokohama A539 is very similar, possibly better when braking very hard in the wet.

Just before the recent price hikes I bought another set as spare.

TBF I only drive the car when there is zero salt on the road.

Thoroughly recommend the A539.

Given 63% while driving a Lotus 7 (225/45 R17) on a combination of roads for 5,000 spirited miles
I bought a set for a kit car because not much else available in 13inch (that are outside MSA list list 1B).
I found them disappointing the dry. They let go early and make a lot of noise about it.

Rover (165/60 R12 H) on a combination of roads for 2,000 spirited miles
One of the best Classic Mini tyres available. These are currently on a 1380 Supercharged Mini running negative camber arms and adjustable suspension. They are around £10-15 more than other tyres but remember that a classic Mini has no ABS, no power steering and drum brakes at the rear so good grip is essential.

Given 93% while driving a Renault 5 (195/45 R15) on a combination of roads for 18,000 average miles
Good all rounders imo, rear tyres still have loads of rubber left, very pleased with them :). I've used the same brand for around 11years and lost more than a few people in the corners in that time ;) lol.

Given 86% while driving a Volkswagen Scirocco Mk1 1979 (195/50 R15 V) on a combination of roads for 20,000 spirited miles
Great tyres. Had them on a 1.3 Mk1 Golf and gave me great millage. Halfway threw there life i put them on my Mk1 Scirocco 1.8 fuel injection. Tyres feel great on a car with power but i am looking just for that extra grip, gets some wheel spin true a corner

Had these on my 998 mini, and it totally transformed the handling, very good cornering grip and feedback, good on wet and dry roads, good tyres!!!

Given 79% while driving a Rover 118 GTa (185/60 R13 H) on a combination of roads for 2,000 spirited miles
Got these cheaply in a special offer, had them before but not on anything quite as quick as current car. Decent grip once warmed up but when cold or in the wet I can lose traction very easily and spin up the wheels quite easily.

Would still buy them again for the cheaper price, nothing gets close to them for the tyre size and performance.

Given 81% while driving a Renault twingo (185/60 R13 H) on a combination of roads for 15,000 spirited miles
The tire is "slow" in the sport action and handling, then if you want to race is not the one, but it breaks so good when you need to stop and the comfort is so good, then if you want your family care is the one.
