Latest Tyre Test Results

2023 ADAC 17 inch Winter Tyre Test
13th of 15 tyres
  • Safe properties on wet roads, low fuel consumption.
  • Weaknesses in precision and slight weaknesses in behavior at the limit on dry roads, weaknesses on winter roads, second lowest predicted mileage in the test, slightly increased abrasion, higher tire weight.
  • The YOKOHAMA BluEarth*WINTER V906 tyre has notable weaknesses on dry roads, including imprecise steering feedback and a tendency to oversteer during sudden maneuvers. Its braking distance, however, is rated as good. On wet roads, the tyre performs well in braking and handling but falls short in aquaplaning with a below-average rating. Its performance on winter roads is satisfactory; it does well in snow braking but struggles with traction, ice braking, and snow handling. Handling is imprecise, and the tyre tends to understeer or oversteer early, offering limited reserves. Environmentally, the tyre receives a good grade, but its predicted mileage and wear are only satisfactory.

Questions and Answers for the Yokohama BluEarth Winter V906

2022-10-11 - Hi I am looking for a set of winters but am a bit hesitant about the Yokohama v906 as they are mid range and I am more used to premium. However prices of premium are high and I was wondering what these are like.

All the data I have access to is available on this page. They performed well in this year ADAC winter tyre test.

Latest Yokohama BluEarth Winter V906 Reviews

Given 88% while driving a Aston Martin (275/35 R19) on mostly motorways for 1,000 easy going miles
With limited options available to me at the time, I had these These V906 winter tyres fitted at the last minute for a trip out to the Swiss Alps around New Year. They impress, with solid performance in cold weather and light snow - all without complaint. I've had winter tyres before and am of the opinion that these provided a quiet, compliant ride without feeling soggy. They are of course hugely more confident on winter roads than my summer tyres but as the Aston V8 is a powerful RWD car I was taking great care on those Alpen roads and certainly not pushing it. .

Given 67% while driving a Lexus Rx450h (235/55 R20) on mostly town for 2,000 average miles
Put these on in UK winter 2022/2023 as there was no other option and I was sceptical at first. However on our wintery roads and cold mornings I found these to do the job in suburban UK. For going to work, to the station, the school run and sitting in traffic, I have no problem. I did notice a massive improvement on these wintery mornings over my summer tyres (Bridgestone Duellers) which when on summer tyres my 2.5 tonne SUV did slide and lose grip in the same conditions. A lot of people do go for Crossclimate 2s but I prefer to have dedicated summer and winters on the car and yeah the Yokos do the job. I've not put them through a tough wintery challenge but I think part of the issues people have is down to how they drive. IMHO most people haven't got a clue how to drive in the winter. Would I but these again? If I had to then yes but I would have preferred more choice. Ultimately, they are better than summers or all seasons on the car and I want to be able to get around in the winter.
